Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson has promised that he’ll wait for Inter Milan to sign him this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

It has looked probable for some time now that Gudmundsson will leave Genoa this summer.

The Icelandic international has had an outstanding campaign for the Grifone. He has scored fourteen goals in Serie A so far this season, as well as assisting a further three.

Naturally, the transfer interest in Gudmundsson is therefore beginning to build.

There is interest from the Premier League.

But it is from the big clubs in Serie A that there is particular interest in Gudmundsson’s signature.

Therefore, Gudmundsson could have his pick of clubs.

But according to the Gazzetta, the Genoa forward has a clear preference. He wants Inter.

Moreover, the newspaper anticipates, Gudmundsson is willing to wait for the Nerazzurri to make it happen.

Albert Gudmundsson Makes Promise To Wait For Inter Milan

Signing Gudmundsson won’t be easy for Inter.

The Nerazzurri know that Genoa want no less than €30 million for Gudmundsson. Potentially more in consideration of how many big clubs are interested.

Inter cannot spend big this summer without first making sales.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri will have to generate the cash to make a move for Gudmundsson from somewhere.

The Gazzetta note that Inter are ready to try and sell some players currently out on loan in order to finance a deal for Gudmundsson.

These could include Mattia Zanotti or even youngster Ebenezer Akinsanmiro.

Then, there is the future of Valentin Carboni. Inter would consider offers in the region of €30 million for the teenage Argentine.

But none of this business will happen in an instant.

So Gudmundsson will have to wait and see whether Inter can sell players and make an offer to Genoa.

According to Genoa, however, the 26-year-old has promised Inter he’ll do just that.
