Raiders LB Luke Masterson, Entering 2nd NFL Season

The Las Vegas Raiders have many players on the roster entering their sophomore seasons in the NFL.

One Raider, entering his second season, is Linebacker Luke Masterson. Masterson was signed on May 12th, 2022, as an undrafted free agent out of Wake Forest University.

Masterson spent six seasons playing college football at Wake Forest University. While playing football at Wake Forest, Masterson was a 2021 All-ACC Honorable Mentioned Honoree by the league and coaches. He was also a 2021 Member of the All-ACC Academic Team. Masterson also was the 2022 Hula Bowl Defensive MVP. He played 49 games with the Demon Deacons, finishing with 223 total tackles, 149 solo tackles, and one interception. 

Luke Masterson had a proficient first NFL season as an undrafted free agent. He played a total of 17 games last season for the Raiders. He started a total of seven games last season, where he had a total of 59 combined tackles. He also had a total of 30 tackles, with 21 of them being solo tackles.

On week 16 of the last NFL season, Masterson performed well against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He finished the game with a combined total of ten tackles, five being solo tackles. He also finished the game with a total of six tackles. The Raiders lost this game 13-10 to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

On the last week of the 2022-23 NFL season, Masterson performed well for the Raiders' defense against the Kansas City Chiefs. He finished the game with a total of six tackles, with a total of three of them being solo tackles. He ended the game with a combined total of nine tackles as well. The Raiders lost this game 31-13 to the Kansas City Chiefs.

It will be very exciting to see what Luke Masterson will bring to the Raiders' defense as he enters his second season as an NFL linebacker.
