Former WVU G Miles McBride was on a roll in the New York Knicks’ 119-112 win over the Golden State Warriors on Monday, finishing with 29 points. McBride’s point total is a career high for the three-year NBA player.

McBride shot 9-of-13 with 6-threes and a steal in 47 minutes.

The Cincinnati, Ohio native did this against future Basketball Hall of Fame guard Stephen Curry, who finished with 27 points, five rebounds and five assists himself on Monday.

In December, McBride signed a $13 million extension with the Knicks over the next three years. The Knicks have traded away many players throughout the season, allowing McBride to pick up more minutes in the rotation. McBride has started sporadically when Knicks have been injured and his minutes have been all over the place, as it seems HC Tom Thibodeau doesn’t know how to use McBride consistently.

McBride is averaging 6.9 points through 55 games while averaging 15.6 minutes per contest.

McBride saw more opportunities during his second year in the NBA with the Knicks. McBride appeared in 64 games during the 2022-23 season. McBride averaged 3.5 points and 1.1 assists last season. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native shot 36 percent from the field. The Knicks picked up McBride’s team option before NBA free agency began this past offseason.

McBride played two seasons at West Virginia from 2019-21, leading the Mountaineers to an NCAA Tournament appearance during his sophomore year. McBride averaged 15.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game.
