Top-rated class of 2026 LSU defensive line target Jahkeem Stewart might be making the jump to college sooner than most anticipated. Earlier today it was reported that the elite Louisiana-based defender is heavily considering a jump to the class of 2025.
One of, if not the top defenders in the state of Louisiana might be making the jump to the college level much sooner than many had expected.
Rated as the top player nationally in the class of 2026, according to On3, LSU defensive line target Jahkeem Stewart has been terrorizing opposing high school offensive players in a camp setting for two years now, and until today, it looked like he had a couple more years remaining until he could do the same on a college gameday.
However, according to a report that came out earlier today, this may not end up being the case after all. According to Chad Simmons of On3, the class of 2026 star recently started heavily considering a jump to the class of 2025, which would land him at the college level one year earlier for the 2025 season.
2026 No. 2 prospect Jahkeem Stewart is strongly considering reclassifying to 2025, according to @ChadSimmons_.
And a handful of schools are working to get him on campus this summer for multi-day visits

Listed as a 6-foot-6, 280-pound defensive lineman out of Reserve, LA, Stewart hasn’t played much high school football thus far, but the lack of experience hasn’t deterred many the top programs around the country from pulling out all the stops for the talented five-star.
Among the main contenders in his recruitment include Auburn, LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas and USC – all of which are expected to host him at some point later this summer.
As we stand today, the purple and gold are the current favorites to eventually land the big-time defender, as On3 gives the Tigers a 91.6 percent chance at landing his commitment. While his potential reclassification shouldn’t change much in that department, it will be interesting to see how his visits end up going this summer.
