Get Ready For Change

I wonder sometimes how change happens. Does it take someone or a group of people to move in such a way where they are inspired? Personally, I feel that we are in need of some true change as a nation. We need to change the way we view our teachers, society, money, and athletes. What do you think we need to change?

Far too many times we let the outside world raise and influence our children in the wrong ways. Sports has the platform to teach our kids so much about life. Sports can teach them how to work hard to achieve their goals, and also give them the confidence to resolve conflicts with others. Sports can teach children how to look past the color of their opponents and judge them by their skill.

I am hopeful today as a member of the New York Jets, that I can give to my team just what they need to be successful. We are judged in my business on wins and loses. As a defensive lineman we are judged by how many sacks or tackles we receive. We all have the same goal on Sunday and that is to win.

I love the blue collar mentality of the Jets, we are working out everyday during the week, not to be just and "okay" team, but we want to dominate our opponents in September.. That will happen when, as a team players start changing their outlook on how we approach Sunday. My teammates are dedicated to winning, and we are currently inspiring all who stand with us to get ready for change. I love the slogan "The Titans of New York." Are you big enough to announce he arrival of the Jets? i can't wait until i here that famed chant J.E.T.S. JETS! JETS! JETS

  As a parent of 3 grown children, 2 sons 28 and 26 and my daughter 24, you need to instill good work ethics. One will never achieve anything without working hard. Don't think you are entitled to anything...you will not appreciate what you attain unless you work for it. And that pertains to all areas of ones life.I remember my son at 5 years of age learing how to skate holding on to the back of chair. 23 years later he's still playing hockey and loves it. He plays pick up hockey with the Pens...though he loves the Flyers. My middle son tried to follow in his big brothers footsteps but did not want to put the effort and hard work into and therefore when given the chance to to go to a hockey camp declined. You always want to be the best you can be....and when its said and done you know you've given your all. I love my Eagles but I do wish you the best in the coming season Mr.Douglas.

  Hey Marques, I am a die-hard Jets fan, I love the moves the Jets have made so far, and I cannot wait to see Pace, Bart Scott and David Harris dominate the opponents. Lito Sheppard and Revis should be the best corner combo in the NFL and Jim Leonhard and Rhodes should be outstanding together. I also like that you guys brought back Tony Richardson who will help block for Leon and Thomas. Bringing Brandon Moore back was a very smart move, as he is probably the best run blocker on the Jets. Lastly, re-signing Brett Ratliff was a great call by Mike Tannenbaum and Rex Ryan because Ratliff led the AFC in passing yards in the pre-season. Lastly, I think you and Jenkins are going to dominate the DLine and there is still the draft!!!! As for change I think that is very important.Change may be hard at first but it ALWAYS works out for the better.   I'm a Buffalo Bills fan, but enjoyed your post! I advocate for change by appreciating what your opponent can "bring to the table". Best wishes for a good season! GO BILLS!!

  Great post & good luck as a Jet, from an Eagle fan. I agree that changes need to be made. As a mother, I see the school system letting some kids slide - schools have 0 tolerance for violence, yet when a repeating bully punched my son, nothing happened but a talk from the principal. Everyone needs to take responsiblity for themselves - most folks today are just too wimpy!
